Pixies: Bossanova LPPixies rule! Bossanova is awesome! Put the McRib on the permanent menu! Yadda-yadda, Bossanova is like what Siamese Dream did for the Pumpkins, everything except for the mainstream crossover. It was a pop-like entry hole that all the other college kids to jump into and roll around in. Like every Pixies album, it’s best listened to as a whole (it retains that short song punk format), but it does include some of my favorite Pixes tunes evah like “Velouria(1)” (although the Weezer cover might be better), the bottomed-out “Stormy Weather(2),” Frank-bansheed “Rock Music(3),” the best song about girls named Alison “Alison(4), and the happy shroom closer “Havalina(5).” But really, I used to love the McRib as a kid, but they are gross now. Deluxe 180g vinyl reissue.
